Arsenal FC Lose Green Credibility after Taking 14 Minute Flight to Norwich

Arsenal Football Club is facing some criticism at the moment; not for their antics on the pitch, but rather for their lack of care for the environment.

Green groups are furious due to the fact that the Arsenal footballers took a 14 minute flight from their Colney training ground in London to the Carrow Road ground in Norwich, where they played Norwich City Football Club on Saturday, rather than suffer a 115 mile, 2 hour 15 minute drive.

Jennifer Parkhouse, a coordinator for the Norwich branch of Friends of the Earth, exclaimed her disbelief with the words, "it is absolutely absurd. I cannot see any reason why they would have flown, other than it being a rather ostentatious display of the players' and the club's wealth. They must have spent more time just getting on and off the plane than in the air."

Are overpaid and over pampered footballers losing their grip on reality?

Arsene Wenger, the club's manager, explained that "usually we take the train and there was no train available. So in the end we decided to fly because we had to drive up on Friday afternoon at the moment when you never know how long it lasts."

Well that settles it, footballers must have such a busy lifestyle that they can't afford to set off an extra 30 minutes early, like any normal person, just in case they encounter traffic.

This action could tarnish Arsenal's reputation as an environmentally conscious club, and void all of the positive changes they have made to reduce their impact on the environment.
