Romney Raises $6mn at Big Oil Luncheon

US Presidential candidate Mit Romney attended a lucrative luncheon on Tuesday, earning an easy $6 million in campaign donations from energy executives at the $50,000-a-plate engagement.

The luncheon at the Houstonian in Texas comes a week ahead of the Republican National Convention.

On the menu: promises to make full and "aggressive" use of the country's energy resources if elected president. He also offered a very encouraging drill, drill, drill message to big oil.

Specifically, Romney pledged to ease regulations that are hindering offshore oil drilling and to facilitate increased natural gas production.

On Thursday, Romney travels to New Mexico to deliver his "comprehensive energy plan".

According to agency reports, the Obama campaign is currently in the red, having spent more than it has managed to raise, while the Romney campaign is still collecting more than it spends. Tuesday's check puts them well into the black.

Hey, Romney is supporting real energy, not the wimpy wana-be solar and wind fiascoes. Oil, gas and coal run America, wind and solar givaway crony subsidies and mandates will bankrupt it.
