Texas Ignores the Recession Thanks to Eagle Ford Shale

The Eagle Ford Shale is boosting the wealth of the counties in which it exists, some of the poorest in the state of Texas.

With a sudden abundance of well-paid oil field jobs, counties with Eagle Ford Shale wells permitted or in production saw an average increase in per capita income of 13.62 percent between 2008 and 2011.

Average pay in the whole of Texas reached $40,147.

Fracking companies should use facts like this to promote their business when trying to gain support, or setting up in new towns. I think that many more people would accept fracking if they knew that it could increase their income by 13.6%.
