Get Ready for a Period of Huge M&A's in the Oil & Gas Sector
Analysts at Bernstein have stated that conditions are perfect for a period of huge merger and acquisition deals in the oil and gas sector, similar to the period of deals that was kicked off by BP's takeover of Amoco in 1998, and followed by several other giant deals, including: Exxon and Mobil; Chevron and Texaco; Total, Fin, and Elf.
What companies do you think might be ready to buy or be bought? Where might some mergers take place?
It seems that M&As are likely to take place in the US between pipeline operators and rail companies, as railways are becoming a more popular method of transporting natural gas and oil.
