Gazprom has announced that may sign a deal next year with BP to extend the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline to Britain. Allowing natural gas to be delivered directly from the Baltic Sea to the UK.

Is this a move y Gazprom to secure buyers for its gas, before the US can start to export its cheaper shale gas?
